Rum Labourdonnais 1774- 2 years old- Ex Cognac 0,7l 40% GB
The 1774 Labourdonnais rum is aged for two years in cognac barrels and then undergoes a two-month maceration with calamondin grown on the estate. The calamondin is a natural cross between kumquat and mandarin.
The creation of this rum is a distant reflection of the respect paid to the Labourdonnais estate, which was founded in 1774 and on which the distillery is located. The estate is also home to a château, built in 1859, which has recently been renovated and converted into a museum.
The aroma is dominated by freshness and a vegetal note, gradually developing into fruity and sweet notes. The flavour is airy with brioche notes and an ethereal feel, golden with a caramel hint and oily citrus zest. The finish taste is round and delicate, with a marked dominance of candied citrus peel and a balanced mix of fruity and bitter notes, slightly caramelised, with a rising bitterness of citrus peel.
