Brandy produced by distilling grapes from the northern and central Italian region qualifies for the designation ‘traditional Italian brandy’.
This exclusive drink is produced in small traditional stills where distillation takes place over a constantly hot fire. After the distillation process, it is matured for 5 years, starting in oak barrels called ‘carati’ and continuing in small barrique casks. Its characteristic aroma and flavour develop as a result of contact with the casks in which the cherries have previously matured.
Notes of quince can be detected in the aroma, dominated by the scent of ripe cherries and oak wood. Overall, this is an exceptional brandy which is recommended to be consumed at room temperature.
